Marshalls Award Winning Garden of 2010 – Patio Plan
This is a garden makeover we carried out in Netherton, Liverpool. As you can see many features were added to this project by the customer at each stage of the project.
This project also won the Marshalls Regional Award for the Northwests best patio under 5k.
Garden Makeover In West Derby Plan
This garden project was carried out in the West Derby area of Liverpool. We have created a garden design that has a three-tier effect by raising the circular patio and lawn on different levels. We have also added 3 boxes of planters for the customer to plant flowers in according to their own choice. We have used a Natural Stone product for the patio area and circular patios and edged them with natural stone cobbles.
Raised Circular Lawn Plan
This project was carried out in the Kirkby area of Liverpool, Merseyside. We have carried out a rear garden makeover, installing a Marshalls Driveline 50 patio (Burnt Ochre colour) with a raised circular lawn. The patio and lawn are edged with Marshalls Driveline 50 kerbs in charcoal colour. We have also created steps up to a raised decking area and a Marshalls Natural Slate flower bed.
How to find landscape design ideas
- Step: Ideas – Look for pictures of gardens you like and put them together in a book or a place on your computer. Maybe even take a tour of your neighbour’s garden or our landscape show garden to get ideas.
- Step: Visualization – A very good technique and very effective. Visualise nature places from the past where you have visited and had a wonderful time, for example, maybe as a child you played by the river and it was so relaxing. Encapsulate all of these feelings and add them to the image of your dream garden.
- Step: Design – Look around your home especially if the design is important to you so that you can bring elements of the interior to your exterior – this is especially important if you like the continuity of design.
- Step: Specialities – Make sure you understand your property and its surroundings. The size, the direction of your plot, the weather conditions, the soil type you have in your garden, etc. Try to match your ideas with the possibilities you have.
